Google Analytics WordPress Plug-In

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

A few weeks ago when Google launched Google Analytics I added the code for it to just the index.php for this site. I knew this wasn’t the best way to go about it but I was anxious to try out the service. I was checking out my stats tonight and realized that I never added the Google Analytics code correctly to the site. A quick search later and I came up a plug-in to handle it for me. If you’re interested in adding this to WordPress check out the Google Analytics WP Plugin v1.1 over at mycvs.org.

GeekGorgeous.com

The new calendar from GeekGorgeous.com sets out to show us all that the girls of IT can be gorgeous. From the website:

Why should the ditsy girls have all the fun? Smart is sexy in the Geek Gorgeous 2006 Wall Calendar. The calendar showcases young ladies who are not only beautiful and stylish, but can also fix your computer, normalize your databases, discuss the advantages of polymorphism, and beat you at Doom.

Hollywood glamour meets the technology of the new millenium in this edgy, eye-catching calendar that features real women who work in the high-tech industry, including programmers, computer technicians, rocket scientists, and more. The scenes in the calendar – from a girl wrapped in ethernet cable to a lingerie-clad model opening up a video card from Santa – are sure to draw attention from those who pass by.

While I don’t think Playboy has anything to worry about anytime soon, it is definitely worth checking out.

Maury Question of the Day

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Speaking of white trash I was watching Maury yesterday while I was home sick. Here’s the scenario I need to run by you:

You’re engaged to be married. You’re brought onto the Maury show by your soon to be wife or husband because they have a secret to tell you. Now, since you don’t have any kids you start to realize that there is only one other reason you would be brought on the show: infidelity. As you nervously rack your brain to try and limit the shock, you’re told by your fiance that she or he slept with your mother or father (use the parent that would assume that it was a heterosexual relationship). Now, of course you’re going to be a touch on the side of pissed and from there the drama ensues…

Fast forward to three months later when you’re giving Maury your video update. In this update you’re “happily” married because you’ve “moved past” the incident. Am I nuts or is this one of the things that would make the holidays awkward? I just don’t know how you get married after that.. but I guess that’s why I am not on the show.

Kiss off, it is ours!

CNN is reporting that all of the talk about a group of nations governing the internet has been settled and the US will remain in control. Look, we built it from scratch and turned it into what it is today and have been doing a good job at keeping it up and running smoothly. Honestly who is better to run a free and open internet than the United States of America? China? France?

Exactly.

I was behind a car with a vanity license plate: OMG1337 . I knew what it was immediately and then thought to myself “You know you’re a nerd when…” Anyone know what it is?

Fall 2005: Worst Show on Television?

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

It is so hard to pick just one but for now at least I think the worst show on televsion is The War at Home on Fox. The jokes are all the stereotypical “my life is a mess” jokes except poorly executed. The entire show is trying way to hard to be funny with dirty jokes. To top it off the laugh track is over the top on every little comment. Speaking of laugh tracks, take a minute and pay attention to the laughtracks on shows now a days. They are all so BRUTALLY obvious. What is your vote for the worst show this fall?

Insert obligatory “sorry I haven’t posted” message here.

Yeah, it’s been a long time. No I haven’t been particularly busy. No there hasn’t been anything that has kept me from posting. I’ve had a lot of good ideas and stuff.. so yeah, I’m back.

Maybe. :)
