My cell phone rang at work today. Since I’m at work and waiting to hear about a new baby I figured I would bite and answer the phone even though I didn’t know the number. I answered it and this is how the converstation went:

Girl: Do you know where Cambridge Street is in Somerville?

Me: Uhh.. who is this?

Girl: Why does that matter. Do you know where Cambridge Street is in Somerville?

Me: Well, I guess it doesn’t. I don’t know where it is but I could look it up for you.

Girl: You seriously have no idea who this is?

Me: No, but do you want me to look it up.

Girl: You’re an asshole.

Me: If you’re going to be mean I’m not going to help you.

..awkward silence..

Me: If I don’t need to know who you are, I’ll tell you that my name is Eric.

Girl: .. click ..

I’m lucky. I get to work every fifth Saturday. I’ve been listening to Sirius quite a bit lately and I’m able to stream it at work. Today I noticed a new channel “Sirius 43 – BackSpin: The pioneers of old skool rap and hip-hop.” Here is a sample of what I heard over the past hour or so:

I have no idea how this is NOT being thrown out of the courts or how this guy is being forced to pay child support. I’m both shocked and amazed. They definitely didn’t cover this form of getting pregnant in high school health class. This begs the question, “How?” The only thing I can figure is that he received oral while wearing protection. Then, when he wasn’t looking, she poured it into the appropriate spot? Any other suggestions are welcome..

I’m not usually a conspiracy theory kind of guy but A-Rod just happens to “save�? a boys life in his off day in downtown Boston? And to top that off the kid and his dad just happen to be Yankees Fans? Right…

Here is a quick snapshot of my new toy. I have decided to go back to a
laptop. I’ll be selling the G5 on Ebay when I get back from vacation! :)

I must admit (shamefully) that I am running FreBSD inside Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 for some hosting business that I am doing. I noticed early on that I was seeing weird problems with the clock in the virtual machine. I scored this tidbit after a bunch of time on Google that worked forby adding adding ‘kern.hz=100′ to /boot/loader.conf. Read more to see the entire thread I grabbed of Google.. (more…)
