Hi everyone! For the moment I’ve had to make commenting on a post something that only registered users can do. The comment spam has gotten completely out of control on this blog so I need to lock it down. I plan on doing away with that sometime in the next two weeks by using CAPCHA or a similar method. For now you can register or you can just wait until I get the new method in place to comment.

New Blog Software: WordPress

Hi Everyone! We got Lenny yesterday (pictures to be posted later) and while everyone was sleeping today I decided to finally move to new blog software. I liked b2evolution, but it seems as though development for it had stopped and the feature list has started to grow pretty stale. With that I decided to move to WordPress. I would like to thank Owen over at asymptomatic.net for his Blog Software Chart and Farook for his b2evolution to WordPress migration tool. Some of the posts my look a bit off right now but I’ll work on correcting them over the weekend.

From Looney to Pissed Off

News came out today that Warner Bros studio has decided to “update” the Looney Tunes characters to appeal to a new generation of kids that have grown up watching Anime with an “edgy” new version of the toons. Personally, I’m horrified by what they have done to the characters . I know that I am clearly not in tune with what the current generation wants but Buzz Bunny and the Lunatics is seriously freaking me out. Pictures of the new characters show an angular, almost evil looking Buzz Bunny. According to Sander Schwartz, president of Warner Bros. Animation, “The new series will have the same classic wit and wisdom, but we have to do it more in line with what kids are talking about today.” Although the plots will turn more action oriented with each character having their own super power. I don’t know if would be possible to turn a classic cartoon into a more generic program? I never through it would happen but it looks like Looney Tunes has officially Jumped the Shark.
Firefox Copy and Paste Fix?

A friend of mine passed along a potential fix for the annoying Firefox copy and paste issue. So far it has worked pretty well for me:
(1) Close Firefox
(2) Create a file in C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.ext named “user.js” [Note: this may be ext.default]
(3) Add the following to the file:
user_pref(“capability.policy.policynames”, “allowclipboard”);
user_pref(“capability.policy.allowclipboard.Clipboard.cutcopy”, “allAccess”);
user_pref(“capability.policy.allowclipboard.Clipboard.paste”, “allAccess”);
(4) Start Firefox
